Affordable housing & security

The Issue

Too many Worcester families are struggling with rising rents, limited housing stock, and barriers to homeownership. Housing insecurity is pushing people out of the city they love.

My Approach

  • Champion policies that increase affordable housing options while preserving existing neighborhoods.
  • Partner with local organizations and developers to expand mixed-income housing.
  • Advocate for rent stabilization measures and fair housing protections.
  • Ensure city contracts and zoning decisions prioritize equitable access to housing.

Final Thoughts

Housing affordability is one of Worcester’s biggest challenges, and it’s tied to every other issue we face. A concrete step I would take is to push for stronger inclusionary zoning policies that require developers to build affordable units and prioritize projects that protect existing residents from displacement.
